REVOLUS ON AIR
How many people really back a movement? Supporters, present or not, and a third, measured and anonymous count of protesters.
A mobile app that brings out the most important figure in any mobilisation: support for the movement. People who cannot be there back an event, or a whole cause, with a single tap on “I support”, from anywhere in France, and that total is shown alongside the protesters. On site, the app counts those present who switch it on, with no account or identifier: a third, measured figure between the police count and the organisers' count. The counting server is finished and tested locally: 5 server functions, 11 PostgreSQL/PostGIS migrations, anonymous tokens that cannot be linked from one event to another, devices certified with App Attest and Play Integrity, 170 check-ins per second sustained for 5,000 simulated devices. The mobile app, the sharing website and the gallery are still in design: the screens shown come from the interactive mock-up, with fictitious data.
- Support for the movement, the key figure: “I support” an event or a whole cause remotely, a national total shown next to those present, support can be withdrawn at any time
- Verified presence: one check-in every 5 minutes, counted as “consolidated” after 3 check-ins over at least 20 minutes
- Anonymous by design: location checked then discarded, a different HMAC token for each event
- Certified devices (App Attest on iOS, Play Integrity on Android) and signed requests to limit fraud
- Server-side anti-fraud: rate limit, speed check (30 km/h), 20 attendees needed to confirm an event
- National day with no double counting across cities, counters broadcast in real time
- Editorial mockup: magazine-style covers, gallery with blurred faces, history of major French protests
