What's Hot

A worldwide news-monitoring app for macOS that collects, translates, scores and cross-checks the news, and says what it doesn't know.

A macOS desktop app that checks a catalogue of 258 news feeds from around the world every day, organised into 28 areas of interest. It removes duplicates, translates offline, ranks each article by signals whose breakdown it shows, and measures how much each source copies from others: five outlets reprinting the same wire story are not five confirmations. A local AI (Ollama) needs no subscription and keeps every text on the machine. For each article it writes a translation, what changes, some perspective and a caveat. You can also follow threads and hot topics, and search everything that has been collected.

  • Major stories kept only if the AI scores them 4 out of 5, or if the signals do and at least three sources report them
  • Provenance: each source's share of copied stories is measured, then removed from the corroboration bonus
  • Local AI (Ollama) and offline translation (Argos): nothing leaves the machine
  • Article images picked by cross-checking about thirty signals, with the 21 standard (IAB) ad sizes rejected
  • Followed threads with a dated status, tracking of space-launch delays, local BM25 search
  • What is established is kept apart from what is only announced, with a caveat for every article
